Aromatherapy Applications: 
Use to stimulate the circulatory system to remove toxins. Angelica oil is known to cause a distaste for excessive alcohol consumption (a toxin to the body), so it is considered a valuable aid for alcoholism. 

Characteristics: 
A colorless or pale yellow oil that turns yellowy-brown with age, with a rich herbaceous-earthy bodynote. 

Principal Constituents: 
Phellandrene, pinene, limonene, linalol, borneol, coumarins, osthol, angelicin, bergapten, imperatorin, plant acids. 

General Actions: 
Antispasmodic, carminative, depurative, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, nervine, stimulant, stomachic, tonic. 

Safety: 
Non-toxic, non-irritant. The root oil is phototoxic, due to high levels of bergapten. 

Primary Therapy Agent: 
Congested & dull skin, psoriasis, accumulation of toxins, edema, water retention, gout, indigestion, flatulence, nervous exhaustion, fatigue. 

Secondary Therapy Agent: 
Irritated & inflamed skin, arthritis, rheumatism, bronchitis, coughs, colds/flu, migraine, nervous tension, stress-related conditions.
